Every morning, as you wash your face, take a moment to pause and remember your baptism. That simple act of cleansing is an invitation to remember who you are in Christ, to live in alignment with the grace He has given you. Just as water refreshes, your baptism signifies a cleansing and renewing of your spirit - a reminder of the profound decision to follow Jesus and accept His promise of new life.
Life has a way of pulling us in countless directions, often distracting us from our true identity. Worries and anxieties creep in, failures and setbacks can weigh us down, and we sometimes forget the essence of who we are in Christ. Remembering your baptism daily acts as an anchor—a powerful reminder that you are marked by God, chosen to live a life of faith, forgiveness, and purpose. It is not about a ritual or going through the motions; rather, it’s about letting your baptism fuel your commitment to God each day.
It’s a daily return to that pivotal decision of dedicating yourself to a life filled with His love, guidance, and strength.
Baptism has been a layered experience for me. I was baptized as a child, and again as a young adult, but both times were beyond my control. I didn't fully understand or choose them myself - one was as an infant, and the second was simply a requirement. It felt more like an act of conformity than a true encounter with Jesus.
Then, in 2018, I had a transformative moment with Jesus.
It was a challenging yet tender experience, one of those rare moments where you can almost feel His presence wrapping around you.
During this time, I received a clear direction from Him, and He gave me a date for my baptism. I realized it was time to make this decision, on my own terms and in response to His calling, and I couldn’t ignore it. Astonishingly, the date He gave me was my son’s birthday, a beautiful reminder that this was not just about me,
but also about the legacy of faith I was building for my family.
With a heart full of excitement, I decided to invite my friends to join me. I wanted them to experience this rebirth in faith too, and for us to walk this journey together. I sent out an invitation, hoping that some of them might feel a similar stirring to renew their commitment. Baptism, after all, is not only a personal encounter with Jesus but a public proclamation that we are united in Him. I was so happy to share my day with two of my dearest friends.
Every day, as we remember our baptism, we choose to embrace a life of transformation, to live with purpose, to forgive and seek forgiveness, to shed old ways and walk in newness of life. Baptism is not a one-time event but a daily calling to embody the love of Christ in all that we do.
So tomorrow morning, when you wash your face, let it be more than a routine. Let it be a moment to pause, to recommit to living a life of faith, grounded in the unchanging love of Jesus. In this simple act, may you remember the new life you have received and go out into the world with a heart filled with His grace and love.
For those who have not yet chosen to be baptized, consider this:
baptism is a personal, powerful step in embracing God’s gift of grace and declaring your commitment to follow Him. It is a public expression of faith and an invitation into a life marked by His love, forgiveness, and guidance. Baptism represents a new beginning—a chance to leave behind the old and step confidently into the life God has designed for you.
In the words of Jesus Himself (Mark 16:16),
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved
Baptism is not just an outward ritual; it is a profound act of obedience and faith, uniting us with Christ in His death and resurrection.
Romans 6:4 tells us,
We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
If you've felt a stirring in your heart to be baptized, know that this is His gentle call to take that step. It is never too late to make this decision—to proclaim your faith and step forward into a new chapter with God. Let this be a moment of transformation, a step into your true identity as His beloved child.
Open your heart and let baptism be the beginning of a renewed, deeper relationship with Christ. Let this choice mark a new season of grace, faith, and purpose, lived out daily in His love.
